Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is scheduled to leave for Solo, Central Java, on Monday morning to attend the funeral of former president Soeharto.
Yudhoyono and entourage will leave at 6.30 a.m., the Presidential Palace said on Sunday.
It said President Yudhoyono paid his last respect to Soeharto who was being laid in state at his residence on Jalan Cendana in Central Jakarta on Sunday evening.
Soeharto will be buried at the Astana Giribangun grave yard in Karanganyar district about 30 km southeast of Solo on Monday.
He died of multiple organ failure at the Pertamina Hospital in Jakarta on Sunday at the age of 86. He had been confined since January 4 with severe heart, lung and kidney problems.(*)
