Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, accompanied by Mrs Ani Yudhoyono, on Saturday received Japanese Prince Akishino who is on a state visit to Indonesia until January 24.
The prince`s visit takes place on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Indonesia - Japan diplomatic relations.
Also present at the palace function to welcome the Japanese prince were Foreign Minister Hassan Wirajudha and Minister/State Secretary Hatta Radjasa.
On Sunday, the prince is slated to meet the chairman of the Regional Representatives Council (DPD) Ginanjar Kartasasmita, attend a function at the Japan Foundation and meet with Japanese nationals living in Indonesia.
Later, Akishino will attend the peak event of the anniversary celebrations at the Beautiful Indonesia-in-Miniature Park (TMII) in East Jakarta together with President Yudhoyono.
Prince Akishino is the second son of Japanese Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko.(*)
